Midday Prayer - Marked by the Cross

MARCH 29

LUNCH TO FOLLOW: A variety of soups, breads, veggie trays, and bars for dessert

Lent is always a good time to experiment with prayer, and this year the Looking Within Center will host Wednesday Midday Prayer Around the Cross at 11:30am. Each week we'll gather around the cross to pray, hear Scripture, consider a reflection, light candles, and savor reflective music (including Taize). Then, we'll eat lunch together!

Each service will introduce a different mode of prayer to try together, as well as a ritual of being marked by the cross. As we experiment with prayer for healing, centering, calling, and connecting, we'll highlight the cross as a place where Jesus meets us with empathy, compassion, wisdom, grace, and hope. We'll start on Ash Wednesday, and continue through the season. Let's grow in prayer together!

Hosted by Julie Stevens, these prayer services will be led by Pastor Hayden Kvamme and Worship and Arts Director Chris Roberts, with some music from Harold Vetter.
