April Reset: Exploring the Chakra System

The chakra system is an ancient Indian philosophical understanding of the energetic interaction of the spirit-mind-body complex. How can we draw upon the chakra system to go inward and grow in awareness of the subtle and spiritual working of our being? How can we listen to the cues of our physical bodies as insights for growing in our relationship with Christ? In this Reset, we will learn about the classical approach to the chakras and their expanded modern interpretation with their relationships to physical and psychological aspects of our being. There will be time for contemplative practices such as personal reflection, journaling and prayer. Melissa Schultz has a life-long interest in global healing systems that incorporate the whole person: body, mind and spirit. She holds a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist and a nationally board-certified herbalist. She is also a Certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, Certified 900-hr Yoga Teacher and Spiritual Director. She uses the insights of modern and traditional medicine, perennial wisdom, and the Christian contemplative tradition to help people live healthier and fuller lives.
